Peter Loomer, BSc, DDS, FADI, Dean UTHSC Dental School

Dr. Peter M. Loomer, an experienced dentist and academic leader, serves as Dean of the School of Dentistry at University of Texas Health Sciences San Antonio. His vast educational and professional experience includes a B.Sc., D.D.S., Diploma in Periodontology, and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. Having held prestigious positions at institutions such as NYU and University of California San Francisco, Dr. Loomer is a well-respected expert in general dentistry and periodontology with numerous awards and publications to his name. Join us at the dental symposium to hear this distinguished speaker share his wisdom on dental excellence in both academia and clinical practice.

Gary F. Guest, DDS, FADI, Chief Information Officer, UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry

Dr. Guest provides leadership for integration of computer technology, including electronic curriculum support for academic and clinical programs. He served as school’s lead for the planning, construction, and operationalization of their Outpatient Clinic facility. He formerly served as the Associate Dean for Patient Care. This office is responsible for all patient care activities, including oversight for clinic policies and procedures; management of the facilities in which patient care is provided, and ensuring Clinics and Simulation Labs operate safely and efficiently with optimal use of resources to provide quality educational experience and patient experience. Dr. Guest currently serves as the School of Dentistry CIO and oversees the enterprise clinic information systems including the school’s Electronic Dental Record and PACS. He is lead for School of Dentistry’s transition to EPIC, that will be a unified Patient Record System for all health components at UT Health. He is past Councilor of the ADEA Section for Dental Informatics, Subcommittee Chair for the American Dental Association's Standards Committee for Dental Informatics and member of the newly formed ADA Standards Consensus Bodies that includes Workgroups for Interoperability and Augmented Intelligence.

Digital Dentistry Workflow Update

Ahmed Sabah, DDS, PhD, FADI, UTHSC San Antonio School of Dentistry AEGD Program Director

Dr. Sabbah is a Clinical Associate Professor and Program Director at the University of Texas Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. He is an expert in digital dentistry, esthetics, implant rehabilitation, smile design, and interdisciplinary treatment planning. Dr. Sabbah has presented at national and international meetings, published articles, and authored a chapter in the new Smile Design book. He has received several awards for his work, including "Professor of the year" and "Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award". Dr. Sabbah also created an electronic assessment application for tracking dental student clinical activities and assessing competency. He has served as the chair of the section on Comprehensive Dentistry at ADEA and is an AEGD site visitor for CODA.

Daniel Min, DDS, FADI

Dr. Min graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. In dental school, Dr. Min was awarded the American Esthetic Dental Association award for excellence in esthetic dentistry and Student of the year in clinical performance. Upon graduation, Dr. Min was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army and served four years, gaining invaluable experience providing dental care to our nation's service members. He continues in the Army Reserves. After active duty, Dr. Min was admitted to the graduate specialty program in dental implantology and prosthetics at Columbia University. He completed this three-year specialty program and earned a Master of Science (MS) in prosthodontics. Dr. Min joined the Columbia faculty and served as a part-time clinical instructor.  Dr. Min runs a practice in Manhattan. Dr. Min is also a co-founder of AI dental company called “Steinfeld Co”.

Raymond Cohlmia, DDS, FADI, Past Dean of Oklahoma Dental School, Current Executive Director of ADA

Dr. Raymond Cohlmia is a highly accomplished dentist and academic professional with extensive experience in clinical practice, academia, and organizational leadership. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the American Dental Association. Holding a DDS degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, he has served in various roles such as Dean of University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. Dr. Cohlmia is actively involved in teaching dental subjects to students and has been at the forefront of technological advancements in dentistry. With numerous awards and honors, including the James Saddoris Lifetime Achievement Award and the Paragon Award, he continues to make significant contributions to the dental community. Dr. Cohlmia's scheduled presentation reflects his expertise in technology and AI in Dentistry.

Leadership Lessons, Climb Every Mountain

Linda Edgar, DDS, FADI, President ADA

Dr. Linda J. Edgar, a general dentist, holds the prestigious position of being the 160th President of the American Dental Association and the 5th woman to attain this honor. She has a rich history of leadership within the ADA, serving as the Eleventh District Trustee and on the Council on Dental Practice. Dr. Edgar transitioned to dentistry later in life after a successful career in teaching. Alongside her extensive private practice experience, she has been actively involved in various dental organizations, including serving as president of multiple societies. Her impressive athletic achievements as a marathon runner and completion of two Ironman races add to her diverse background. Currently retired from private practice, Dr. Edgar focuses on volunteer work that combines continuing education with increasing access for veterans and underserved populations.

Mr. Charles Stapelton, Honorary FADI (2024 recipient)

Chuck Stapleton has spearheaded numerous initiatives that have advanced dental technology and improved patient outcomes for the clinician and the dental lab. His 20 years of experience in dental technology and product development has positioned him as a leader in driving innovation as well as operational excellence. Currently with Glidewell as their Senior Director of Regional Lab Operations, Chuck is exposed to almost all the latest technologies and trends that are shaping the future of digital dentistry.

Bioactivity in Dental Restorative Materials: Key to Minimally Invasive and Long-Lasting Restorations

Michelle Segarra, DDS, FADI, Dean, Manila Dental School

Dr. Michelle C. Sunico-Segarra is a highly accomplished Professor at the University of the Philippines Manila College of Dentistry with 30 years of experience in university-level teaching. She has held key administrative roles within the College, chaired various scientific conventions, and authored numerous research articles in esteemed scientific journals. Dr. Segarra's research focuses on areas such as adhesive resins, dental materials, enamel cracks, and the effects of calcium phosphate technologies on teeth. She is also actively engaged in occupational and environmental health advocacies. In addition to her academic pursuits, she practices General Dentistry with a specialization in adhesive restorations and pediatric care. Currently serving as the Dean of the University of the Philippines College of Dentistry, she continues to contribute significantly to the fields of dentistry and health education.

TMD: Facts or Fantasies?

Jeffrey Okeson, DMD, FADI, Dean, Kentucky Dental School

Dr. Jeffrey P. Okeson is Professor and Dean of the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. He founded the College's Orofacial Pain Program in 1977. Dr. Okeson has published over 260 articles in the areas of occlusion, TM disorders, and orofacial pain and is the author of several widely used textbooks, including "Management of Temporomandibular Disorders and Occlusion" and "Bell’s Oral and Facial Pains." Dr. Okeson is an active member of many TMD and orofacial pain organizations and has presented over 1300 lectures on the subject of TMD and orofacial pain in all 50 states and 61 countries. He has received numerous teaching awards, including “The International Dentist of the Year Award” from the Academy of Dentistry International.

Jung Suk Han, DDS, FADI, Past Dean, Seoul National University Dental School

Dr. Han is currently an Emeritus Professor in Department of Prosthodontics, School of Dentistry, Seoul National University. He graduated from School of Dentistry, Seoul National University 1983 and received MS degree in Prosthodontics from University of Michigan 1989. He served as a president of Korean Academy of Prosthodontics and Korean Academy of Digital Dentistry. He served as a dean for 4 years in School of Dentistry, Seoul National University. He is an immediate past co-president of International College of Prosthodontist (ICP) and a president of International Academy of Digital Dental Medicine (IADDM). He is a member of American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and former board member of American Equilibration Society.

Gerhard Seeberger, DDS, FADI, Immediate Past President of ADI, FDI

Gerhard Konrad Seeberger has an extensive background in global oral health advocacy and political engagement. He served as President of FDI World Dental Federation and Academy of Dentistry International, where he led efforts to integrate oral health into broader health agendas at international levels. With over 150 published articles, Seeberger is a respected voice in the dental community. His academic experience includes roles as an Assistant Professor in Cagliari, Italy, and Associate Professor in Romania, specializing in periodontology, implant surgery, and prosthetics. Additionally, he has taken on various leadership positions and advisory roles in organizations worldwide, emphasizing the importance of oral health on a global scale.
